Past Home Decor Work
Living Room - Originally this Living room lacked sparkle. The colours were pale and the layout was not working for the clients. I deepened the colour palette to emphasize the wood and fabrics. The furniture was moved to serve the entertaining and day to day needs of the clients. The writing desk for example now has natural light and a view.
Basement Bedroom - This bedroom was unused and required wall repair. The ceiling is low and uneven where it joins the wall.
The window was blocked by the back porch. It offered air flow but no light.

Solutions
The first painting was a warm coffee colour that warmed the room. The ceiling has a faux crown molding detail and a band around the window brightens the room. The window was masked and presented as a display.
The second painting was done after wall repairs and the wall colour was changed to a cool blue white that fits well with the bedding and the wood. The trim details were also reduced, to match the baseboard.
This room was painted 2 times over 4 years.

Family Room - is very long. On one end is the fireplace and on the other is the entertainment area.
Solutions
The fireplace required de-cluttering and cleaning. The edging around the stone and the book case required carpentry work.
The furniture was rearranged to offer access to both parts of the room and in now a more functional space.
In this room the fabrics were blue toned and the carpet is gray. This new wall colour warms the room. White venetian blinds add a lightness and brightness as well. They also ensure more privacy.

Tromp l'oeil ~ Faux paintings
Faux elements are often used to improve a room where wallpaper or colour cannot or are impractical.
Doorway -Tromp l'oeil Window
Space above a door can be quite dead. Here the false window adds lightness and interest to an otherwise dark entrance.
